Albany Missionary Baptist Church Lineage


The Albany Missionary Baptist Church was organized June 26, 1971 A.D. by the authority of the FMBC (First Missionary Baptist Church) of St. Helens, Oregon, with Elder Ed Keady as the first Pastor-AMBC (Albany Missionary Baptist Church)minutes

The St. Helens First Missionary Baptist Church was organized July 12, 1936 A.D. by the authority of the Antioch Baptist Church of Portland, Oregon, with Elder J.W. Black as the first Pastor- St. Helens FMBC minutes.

The Antioch Baptist Church of Portland, Oregon was organized on July 20, 1924. J.T. Moore was the Missionary sent out by the Cloverdale Baptist Church, of Cloverdale, Oregon formally the First Nestucca Bay Baptist Church.

The Cloverdale Baptist Church (formally The First Nestucca Bay Baptist Church) was organized by the Mount Hebo Baptist Church on Saturday before the 2nd Sunday, April 10, 1897.

The Mount Hebo Baptist Church is believed to be organized by the Philadelphia Association. A Church authority that included churches in Arkansas and can be traced back through history to the Philadelphia Association. Sometime after 987 A.D. ,H. Roller came to the Philadelphia Association from Hillcliff Church in Wales, England, and organized many churches throughout the United States- Philadelphia Association Minutes, Volume 1, Item 1.

The Hillcliff Church was organized in 987 A.D. by the authority of the Lima Piedmont Church, with Aaron Arlington as the first Pastor- Jones’ History, Volume 2, p. 324.

The Lima Piedmont Church was organized in 812 A.D. by the authority of the Darethea Church, with Balcolao as the First Pastor-Neander’s Church History, volume 2, p.320

The Darethea church was organized in 738 A.D. by the authority of the Timto Church, with Archer Flavin as the first Pastor – Mosheim’s church History, p. 294.

The Timto Church was organized in 671 A.D. by the authority of Pontifossi Church, with Adromicus as the first Pastor – Nowlan’s Church History, p. 47

The Pontifossi Church was organized in 394 A.D. by the authority of the Partus Church, with Turtullan as the first PastorĀ  – Armitage Church History, p. 182.

The Partus Church was organized by Polycarp as his sponsoring church in 150 A.D. – The Cyrus Commentary of Antiquity p. 924.

John the Beloved baptized Polycarp in 90 A.D. – Neander’s Church History, p. 285.

John the Beloved was baptized by John the Baptist and was a charter member of the Jerusalem Church – Acts 1:21-22
